Ingredients

  • 350g Wild caught fresh prawns

  • 50g Vermicelli 

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • 2 tbsp chinese cooking wine

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • Spring onion (garnish)

Preparation

Step 1


Soak the vermicelli in hot water for 10 mins.



Step 2


Make a slit along the back of each prawn. Then, devein the prawns to prevent gritty texture and obtain better flavour. 



Step 3


Marinate the prawns with salt and cooking wine. Save the marinating liquid.



Step 4


Assemble ingredients by layering the vermicelli at the bottom, followed by the marinated prawns and then diced garlic in a bowl.



Step 5


Add in the marinating liquid, soy sauce and some water.



Step 6


Prepare a steamer and steam the prawns for 20 minutes or until the prawns turn orange.



Step 7


Garnish with spring onions (optional).
